Our company’s core product during the founding period were classic futons with 100% cotton filling. Thanks to years of experience and customer feedback we have constantly refined our production and developed new techniques to guarantee a lasting futon, which you can enjoy for many years. This is reflected in our generous product warranties, which exceed industry standard.
For example we use the patented T-bottoned tufting to prevent cotton layers inside the cover from shifting or lumping. Changes in demand, due to changing customer demographics, lead us to expand into foam core futons with cotton wadding on both sides and a wool comfort layer. This product is softer and offers superior sleep comfort, combined with a longer durability. All natural material coverings are still the trademark of all our futons, which we produce locally in our own factory in Byron Bay.

Soon after moving to Byron Bay we developed our own line of bed frames and sofa beds, all made in our own on-site wood working factory. Initially we used mostly Australian timbers like Tasmanian Oak. Scarcity and supply issues, combined with rising prices, meant that we had to source alternative timbers. Hence we began to source recycled Rubberwood from Malaysia; rubberwood is harvested from plantations which produce the raw material for latex. Once these trees have reached their life cycle they are taken out and replaced by new plantations.
In recent years we have expanded into using American Oak, a beautiful and strong hardwood timber originating from the North America.
Most of our furniture designs are Zentai Exclusive Designs: contemporary furniture for a minimalist zen appearance, made to our high quality standards.
Short answer: No. It’s unfortunate that, at the time of writing, there is no Australian Standard for the naming of any mattresses, which would give clear labeling guidelines about the composition and structure of different types of mattresses. You might find some competitors, who are selling mattresses marketed as latex which contain not a trace of natural latex. In fact some items advertised as “Latex Mattress” are made of a cheap inner spring base with only a thin layer of synthetic latex on top — this is a petrochemical product more in line with a common foam topper you would find on most beds. Our ZENTAI LATEX MATTRESSES contain no steel springs, the latex we use is certified 100% natural latex, harvested from rubber trees in managed plantations. Yes. Our company was established, and is under the same management, since 1981. Our main aim is to build lasting relationships with our satisfied customers and to encourage word-of-mouth recommendations. This is reflected in our extensive product warranties, as long as 10 years on selected items, and generous after sales support. Many lines are from our own ZENTAI production, so we control every aspect of what we are selling.

Currently our online freight calculation is only set up for Australia. For overseas orders please contact our office. All our listed prices are including Australian GST, and shipping charges are always calculated by “Weight” to your destination; for bulky items this might reflect the cubed weight, taking volume into account (the values are stored in our data base for each item).
All items in stock are usually shipped out within 7 business days. If you need your item(s) at a particular time please notify us through the order comment field. Please note that we don’t stock large quantities of ready-made futons ; these are produced to individual customer orders, hence delivery times may vary according to current work load. We aim to deliver orders as quickly and completely as possible. Special care is being taken to pack things carefully to avoid damage in transit; should, against all expectations, goods arrive incomplete or damaged please contact our office immediately. This depends: small items, like bedside tables, are always shipped completely assembled. This applies as well to chests of drawers and our entertainment units. Our bed frames and sofa beds are being shipped flatpacked and need some assembly. The steps are easy and well explained in the attached instruction sheet; you will not need special tools beyond standard screw drivers, and possibly a standard spanner in some cases.
